Colorado Driver's License Lawyer
A DUI arrest or refusal to submit to a blood alcohol test starts two legal processes — the criminal charge and an administrative procedure that result in the suspension of your driver's license and ultimately its revocation for a period of time. If you are convicted of driving under restraint, you face additional penalties, including mandatory jail time and extended revocation of your driving privileges.
To protect your freedom and your ability to drive, you need strong, aggressive legal representation as soon as possible.
My name is Timothy A. Meinert, a defense attorney who has been representing clients in DUI and driver's license cases for more than 15 years. I tenaciously represent my clients in all legal venues, and I will fight for your rights.

What Will Happen to My Driver's License?
If you wish to challenge the suspension or revocation of your driver's license, you must request an administrative hearing with the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles within seven days of a DUI arrest or refusal to submit to a blood alcohol test.
When you are arrested for DUI, your driver's license will be taken from you. Upon your release from custody, you will be given temporary driving privileges for seven days, long enough to request a hearing with the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles to regarding the reinstatement of your license. A conviction for a first-time DUI will lead to the revocation of your driver's license for nine months. If you have one or more prior convictions, the revocation period is longer.
You need to move fast to have a chance at retaining your driving privileges. I can assist you in requesting a DMV hearing, and I can represent you in the administrative hearing in an effort to prevent the suspension of your driver's license or to obtain temporary driving privileges until your DUI case is resolved. I will also provide aggressive representation in the criminal proceeding concerning your DUI or DWAI case.
